Transactions appearing in ledger when they shouldn't

Greetings. I am new to Kmymoney, but I'm really impressed with it so far. There is one issue that I can't seem to overcome.

I have the usual bills, deposits and loans setup in scheduled transactions. The box for "Enter this schedule into the register automatically when it is due" is not checked. Nevertheless, the transactions are appearing in my ledger causing some havoc. How can I get those transactions to NOT appear in the ledger unless I manually tell it to do so?

I appreciate your time and attention.

May be they appear because they are overdue. If you don't want them to show at all then you should uncheck "Check schedules on startup" in KMyMoney /Settings /Scheduled transaction.

Well, what you see seems to be a preview of those scheduled transactions. They are shown with a dimmed (grayed) font-color in this case.
Here is howto remove/hide them:
  1. Open the Settings/Configure KMyMoney dialog
  2. Select the Scheduled transactions page
  3. Set the Number of days to preview schedules in ledger option to 0 days.
That should be it. Please report back if this solved your issue.

The "Check schedules on startup" box has never been checked. It was unchecked by default and that's how I left it.

But thanks anyway.

That has always been set to 0. And the transaction is not dimmed. It's just as vivid as all the other entries in the ledger.

Anything else to check?

Which version of KMyMoney (not KDE) does this happen with? What is the underlying OS/distro? Do you use the feature to import transactions from an online source/downloaded file? Can you try to create an anonymized file which we can take a look at? See the manual for details how to create it.

Can do all of that after I get home from work tonight. And thank you for your prompt attention. I do appreciate it.

Kmymoney Version 4.7.2

Linux 4.4.68-desktop-1.mga5 #1 SMP Sun May 14 17:56:12 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

My small-town bank doesn't allow for importing sources online, but I can export transactions. I am exporting from my bank's portal, and doing so every few days. That part seems to be working okay.

I generated an anonymous file (handy feature btw) and the issue persists. I took some screenshots:

If I'm looking at the designed behavior and nothing is wrong, I will try to work with it, but what I had in mind was scheduling payments and them manually entering them in the ledger when I am able to make them.

I appreciate the attention.

Thank you very much for the information.

First thing, so that we don't compare apples and oranges: can you upgrade to KMyMoney 4.8.0? This just to avoid that we search a problem which has already been fixed. Next, can you please send that anonymized file for further investigation to kmymoney-devel@kde.org so that we can make sure, there's nothing strange in your data file causing this behavior.

Attempted to install Kmymoney 4.8. I downloaded and installed packages from Cauldron (Mageia's developmental repos) as well as their dependencies:

libpayeeidentifier_nationalAccount.so.4()(64bit)
libstdc++.so.6(GLIBCXX_3.4.21)
libgpgmepp.so.6()(64bit)
libpayeeidentifier_iban_bic.so.4()(64bit)

After that I attempted to install the kmymoney 4.8.0-4.mga6.86 rpm. I found myself in a circular "rpm hell" in which the installer kept asking for files that were already installed. See the list above.

So no, I will not be upgrading to Kmymoney 4.8.

I have sent the anonymous data file attached to an email from madams9@gmai.com. Subject: "adamsmark anon data file reference".
