Firstly, thank you for such a great product which I use and love.
I am having to consider tax (VAT) for the first time in Kmymoney and have found a rounding error. I followed the excellent instructions in the pdf manual and they work like a dream until there's a number that it is unable to resolve. Example: I am entering the gross amount of 17.07 and the associated tax amount is 20%. On a calculator 17.07 gives 14.225 + 2.845 In Kmymoney 17.07 gives 14.22 + 2.84 (automatically as shown in the attached). So, Kmymoney appears to round each value DOWN and leave me with a discrepancy - which I am also unable to override manually. Can anyone help? |

Although I'm not a user of VAT I had a similar issue with investments. I was able to overcome it by setting Price Precision to 4. The default value seems to be 2. The setting for Price Precision is found in Settings>Configure KMyMoney>General. If you haven't already, try changing it to 4 to see if that corrects the problem.

Thank you for the response but my Price Precision is already set to 4 and, sadly, the problem remains. The result of the calculation to split 17.07 into its net and tax elements gives 14.225 + 2.845. Each of these numbers falls exactly on the halfway point and Kmymoney has applied the rounding in the same direction to each which, unfortunately, leaves a discrepancy of 1. |

Just for the record: this problem has been addressed and fixed in the meantime. It should be marked as solved here also.
