I just installed KMyMoney 4.8.1 on a Windows 10 PC and the application shortcut has no icon just a generic placeholder.
I tried right clicking 'properties' to change the icon, but I get a message box saying "the file c:\Program Files (x86)\kmymoney\bin\kmymoney.exe contains no icons." I can then try to browse for icons but could not locate any. Any ideas? I'm new to KMyMoney, looking for a cross-platform replacement to quicken and/or ynab 4. I would like something that can handle banks/loans/investments. KMyMoney seems like it has potential, if I can get it to work. Thanks! |

Hello, I have just installed KMyMoney 4.8.1 on windows 10 and same pb .. no application icon.
I tried to find an icon in all exe files in the /bin directory but there is no one. It seems that the icon was forgotten during the compilation process. The application works fine but a white icon is not beautiful for kmm. |

A solution you might like to try...
Windows 10 1. Create a folder in kmymoney directory - call it "app icon". 2. Download ico (icon) file you like from a free icon site and place in folder. 3. Delete generic icon from desktop/taskbar . 4. Goto "kmymoney" directory. 5. Click "bin". Right click "kmymoney" (application) and click "Send to Desktop (create shortcut)". 6. Right click the generic kmy icon on Desktop and click "Properties" 7. Click "Change Icon...". 8. Browse to your "app icon" folder and select the icon you placed there. Click "OK" "Apply" "OK". 9. Right click icon and "Pin to taskbar" if required. |
