Is it possible to get a category report in summary form ?
When I run a category report it always shows the details of each category when all I really want is just a total for each category. Is it there and I'm just missing it ? I'm looking for a report that will fit on 1 or 2 pages at most where now the reports are running 6 - 8 pages. Any help would be greatly appreciated. For what it's worth my OS is Linux Mint 18.3. The version of KMyMoney that you are using would be more interesting. You can use the Detail setting of the Rows/Columns tab of the Report configuration dialog to control the amount of details shown. Does that help?

I'm using version 4.6.6, and no, I'm afraid your suggestions didn't really help.
For example, in my category "Dining Out" it lists 15 separate entries on the report, all I want is the total, not all the individual transactions that made up that total. Any other suggestions ? Thanks, Bruce |

Why don't you use an income/expense report instead? That gives you nothing but totals and no transaction details.

Yea, that works, sorry I didn't think of that myself.
As a previous user of Quicken I got used to running a category report with it so naturally was looking to do the same with Kmy. Another case of not thinking outside the box. Yes, that solved my problem. Thanks so much, Bruce |
