When Ubuntu updated to 18.04 it also updated KmyMoney. Unfortunately now my stock updates don't work & the section to select & modify the online quote source has changed, with new sources & new "Details" section. Is it necessary to create a new source or do any of the included sources work? I would greatly appreciate it someone could cut/paste what goes into each Details slot: there are now 7. I use mostly Canadian & US stocks.
Thanks |
Warren,
I think you'll find your solution here. viewtopic.php?f=69&t=142713
Yes, I know about that solution used in the Ver 4.8 but in 5.0 the Information has different input sections & choices URL (entered the Google URL here .... https://finance.google.com/finance?q=%1) CSV URL (left empty) IDENTIFIER (entered %1) IDENTIFY BY (there are only 3 choices ... Symbol, ID number, Name ![]() PRICE (entered "price"\s+content="((\d+|\d{1,3}(?:[,]\d{3})).\d+) DATE (entered "quoteTime"\s+content="(\d{4}-\d{2}-\d{2})T DATE FORMAT entered %y-%m-%d) When using this to update the response is: Fetching URL ... Malformed URL . Unable to update price for TD.TO (empty quote data) The same response is returned for US stocks IE "WMT" I suspect the new version requires a different format that I haven't been able to grasp. Relating to my previous post .... Sometimes I amaze myself on the stupid mistakes I make. After going back and checking all inputs again I remember a caution previously mentioned about "ensuring there are NO trailing spaces in the URL". I didn't have a trailing space but I did have a "leading space". All is now well.
Thanks for the patience & not dumping on me. Warren |

Hi all,
Im using google as a online update source but today I realize that google is not updating the date of the share quote. Please, see at view-source:https://finance.google.com/finance?q=vale5.sa where the search keyword says "quoteTime". Its date is 2017-11-24!!! Does someone else has the same problem or just myself? Thank you, |

I didn't catch your need for the translation within the fields that works with 5.0. Sorry. Glad you figured it out. Another solution which is already built into 5.0 is to use "MSN" within online quotes in the Settings > Configure KMyMoney > Online Quotes. I tested it today and it updates pricing as designed. Remember if you change to this process you also need to update the individual shares/funds in the Investment Option > Edit Investment section.

Having the same problem. Ubuntu 18.04; kmymoney 5.0 - can't get online quotes from Google. Have followed every step in this thread multiple times and it still won't update. I configured the Google source by copying the URL, price and date from this thread. Have made sure there are no leading or trailing spaces. Still won't work.
Error is: Fetching URL https://finance.google.com/finance?q=ABT... Unable to update price for ABT (no price or no date) Google finance has information on ABT (Abbott). Is there a file which might be corrupted? What else might I do? Thanks for your help. meljewett |

Still haven't found a solution. I have completely removed KMM from my computer and re-installed. No change.
In addition, when configuring the online quotes, I have tried to delete several of the sources that are setup when KMM is installed. The source is deleted from the list, but on closing KMM and restarting the source has reappeared. Adding new sources works just fine, but can't permanently delete unused ones. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, meljewett |
