KMM 5.0

Sat Feb 17, 2018 10:43 pm
I'm running Manjaro-Linux and the KMyMoney software upgrade today to 5.0. I'd like to thank the developers for this release and their hard work with this version. It looks really nice and I'm enjoying the experience. I did notice that $ sign is in a different location as compared to V 4.8.1.1. Previously the $ sign appeared before the number and now with this version, it is appearing after the number. I live in the US and the proper position for the $ sign is to proceed the number and was wondering if there is any way to have it work this way. Is this change permanent or can the format be changed back to the way it was?

Hello,

I'm having the same problem. I am in the UK and the £ (pound) sign appears after the number. It looks very odd.

Fixed. See KDE Git repository. Does not support Windows (yet).

Nice to see 5.0 out.
Question - how do I enter scheduled transactions that are due? . Used to be able to right-click the greyed out entry and have the Enter option available. Now the only options available are New or Print Check, neither of which I want to do.

uh, this might help . . . 5.0.0-0neon+16.04+xenial+build3

First, I believe this is the fix for this issue that will become available in the future 5.0.1 update that should be coming out in the next few weeks.

https://cgit.kde.org/kmymoney.git/commi ... 08e9e024d2

Here is also all the updates within this release if you're interested in reviewing what's coming. https://cgit.kde.org/kmymoney.git/log/

What I have been doing to handle scheduled transaction is I utilize my homepage/tab then go to the Payments section and within this, I go to the schedule column and select/click the far left icon that allows me to enter the scheduled transaction.

Thank you for that. Pretty much what I've been doing. Inconvenient but works for now.
I'll check out those links.

Updated to v5.0.1 a few minutes ago.
In v4.8 and lower, when entering a "Pay to", the past transaction record for that Payee would show up. That is not happening anymore. Intentional?
Fixed - A Scheduled transaction showing up in grey can again be entered using right-click and Enter.

Check your settings, please. A bug (fixed in 5.0.1) might have turned this feature off for you behind the scenes.

Thank you ipwizard. Problem solved I think.

I just went through the Settings > Configure KMyMoney . . .
There are 3 options available under Ledger > Data entry > Autofill
1. "No Autofill" had been selected.
2. "Same transaction if amount differs . . ." is now selected and seems to be doing what I am used to.
3. "With previously most often used . . ." autofills the Category but without the history.

I guess that pretty much describes what we had in mind. Find our version of it in the manual.

There's a Manual?? xD

I've been using KMyMoney for at least 10 years. Don't ever remember customizing it but I may have. Probably wouldn't hurt to go back through the Settings and just see what's there, what may have changed . . .

I did notice that Encryption is greyed out. Maybe missing an encryption package? The manual entry on Encryption is no help.
I'm using KDE Mint 18.3 with kubuntu backports on this machine, Neon on my other. Same problem on both.
