Importing CSV autofills the same Payee wrongly

I must admit that I am new to KMyMoney, and that I am still trying to learn.

The problem I have right now is this: I have created several Payees that I have each assigned a list of matching names. But when I import a CSV (a monthly transactions overview from my bank), all the imported transactions are assigned the same Payee and its associated category - even though there is nothing in the column assigned for Payee that matches this payee.

The import CSV feature assigned the correct Payees with a CSV from another bank. Is there something I need to look out for - a known incompatiblity, or a way I should format the CSV file?

To provide an answer, we need to know which version of KMyMoney you are using while you try to import the CSV file. A sample record (with all personal information replaced with something you can share) from both institutions might also give some hints on what is going on.

Thank you, ipwizard.

I am using KMyMoney 5.0.0.

I discovered now that both CSV files import wrongly (wrong Payees and categories assigned) when an account has zero previous transactions registered.

To be clear:
Steps that I took:
a) Set up a new checkings account
b) Import transactions from CSV exported from bank (like the example file below)
c) Create new Payee "Example"
d) Delete some transactions and re-assign them to "Example"
e) Mark "Example" to Match on a name listed below, and add "example" and "alias for example"
f) Delete previous transactions
g) Import unpreviously imported transactions from new CSV

Example CSV that I import: https://send.firefox.com/download/d093e ... SlHSYbFbMQ

Here's what I did with your CSV data:
  1. Set up a new checkings account
  2. Import transactions from CSV exported from bank (like the example file below)
  3. Create new Payee "Example"
  4. Delete some payees created during the import and re-assign them to "Example"
  5. Delete all previously imported transactions in the new account
  6. Import CSV file again into new account
The transactions that were previously assigned to Example after step d) are now again assigned to Example. I don't see where the problem should be.

Neither do I, but I just did what I should have done earlier: created a brand new .kmy project. And now it works!

But thank you for helping me! I will now continue to use Kmymoney to manage my finances.
