I have a problem entering transactions of any type with a date which is pre the current date.

for example I have standing orders that come into the bank account which can only be entered after the statement has arrived.

is there a setting somewhere that disables this which I can reset,

I am using windows 10.

Please give an example using real dates, as I don't follow what your problem is. The only possible issue I can think of is that you cannot enter transactions prior to the opening date of the account, but that should only be an issue, for example, if you open the account today, but then want to add transactions back to the start of the month. In that case, just change the opening date of the account to before the earliest transaction you plan to enter.
