Can I switch from XFCE to KDE ?

Sat Sep 22, 2018 2:42 pm
Can I switch from XFCE to KDE without too many problems ?
I think that I am running XFCE but I dont know how to display the desktop version.
Manjaro Linux Kernel: 4.17.17-1-MANJARO x86_64 bits:

The reason is that I have an application that was developed for KDE. (KMyMoney 5.0.1-1) and I am having problems with it.

thanks

Hi,
to display the desktop version, you can try in the terminal
Code: Select all
echo $XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP

I do not think that switchinf from xfce to kde will solve your problem
In my opinion, you should tell us what is your problem with kmymoney

The problem I have is with updating the activity from my Vanguard investment account.
When I select an investment account and do an update, it appears that KMM does not remember how the account was setup for downloading.
That is, the proper host (Vanguard), Name of the account (Vanguard Joint), Type(Investment)
Image

When I try to select the proper account it will not be listed as selectable. It lists the brokerage account. If I select the brokerage account, the activity will be posted to the brokerage account and not the investment account.
I can straighten it out by editing each downloaded transaction but it is a PITA. My older version of KMM 4.x.y.z handled it properly.
