Hello, sorry for the abrupt nature of this, but I'm kind of in a bind.

Let's say I start with owing 8,000 on a card.
If I add a charge (a pay OUT) of 30.00 the balance should go to -8,030.00, correct?
if I send in a payment, of say 1500.00 the balance should go to -6250.00.

It's going the other way around in KMyMoney! Instead of what I owe the card going up with charges, the balance is going down, when I send in a payment the balance is going UP.

How do I fix this?

If you start the account with owing 8.000, it should have a balance of 8.000 which is shown in red in the ledger. If it shows black and as -8.000 you need to fix it. In the ledger of a liability account, charges are positive and payments are negative.

I'll be darn. When I setup the real account, I put in the starting balance as "-####.##" which caused it to assume, I'm guessing that I was owed that much, instead of owing that much.

That cleared up a lot.
