Hello
I wonder if anyone can offer some guidance to a problem I am having? I am running Mint 19 and have KMyMoney 5.0.0 installed I also have the latest version installed on a Windows machine. In the hope of keeping both OS's synchronized, I saved my windows .kmy file to my NAS. Un#fortunately, when trying to load the .kmy file on the Mint machine, KMyMoney does not appear to see the networked drive, although the Mint OS sees it find and I have it mounted under Gigolo and the drive is remounted at boot time? Additionally, KMyMoney will not allow me to manually enter a path when I select File --> Open; it just seems to display / allow the default Home or root folders. Am I missing something somewhere? I suspect I am, as I would not expect not to be able to open files on a remote drive in KMyMoney. Many thanks, in anticipation, for any advice/ guidance provided Regards Mike |

I also have this problem in Mint 19.1 ( and also mint 18.3)
As a work-around, I associated the file type with KMyMoney so that I could open the file. Then, each time I open KMyMoney, it opens the last used file AOK. Hope that helps. Tony PS Have you tried posting this, possible Linux, issue on the Linux forum https://forums.linuxmint.com/ |

KMyMoney uses the (OS) native file open dialog where possible. In case this is not available or not configured correctly (which is outside the scope of KMyMoney), then it will use the file open dialog provided by the Qt framework.
Try to find the mountpoint of your network drive in your local filesystem. This should be available from your root path. Using it, you should then be able to access your data file on an external device.
