KMyMoney 5.0 - exporting hierarchical accounts

I am trying to export a list of accounts to a spreadsheet.

Despite trying various settings, I cannot manage to export sub-accounts.

For example, I have a master account A with hierarchical sub-accounts B, C & D.

In the export, I want to see B, C, D and, preferably, not see A.

Any ideas please?

As an alternative, is it possible to break the hierarchy so that B, C and D would be stand-alone accounts?

I expect you try to use File/Export/CSV function to do the job. There, you can only select a single file at a time, though accounts organized in a hierarchy should be shown as separate entries in the account selection combo box. If this is incorrect, please explain in more detail what you are doing.

Hi
thank you for the quick response.

If I use the File-Export-Account CSV approach; as you say, from here I can only select a single account at a time. While this would achieve what I need, it would be quite laborious to perform one account at a time for the numerous accounts concerned.

The example accounts are :-
Master Account A
Sub-accounts B, C & D

I am trying to get a report of the balance in B, C & D

I was trying it via a report then exporting the report as CSV.
Within the Net Worth report, I select Configure – Account.
I then select the 3 required sub-accounts B,C D but the screen-printout only shows the Master account A
If I also select A ( while retaining B,C,D selected) , then the print still only shows the Master Account A.

If it not possible to achieve a single report with B,C,D; is it possible to break the hierarchy so these accounts would be selectable "in their own right" . If not, I guess I will need to re-create each account as its own master account (?)

Hope this clarifies, sorry for the lack of detail previously.

Valid point.

Did you try to select Configure/"Rows/Columns"/Detail to 'All'? Does that make a difference? If not, which version do you exactly use (see Help/About KMyMoney)?

No problem.

Hi,

that cracked it!

Thank you!!

Rgds, Tony

PS As background, the need for this report is as a work-around to produce reports based on account category ( see viewtopic.php?f=69&t=160239). I have set each account name to include its risk, region, and type) and then have a macro in "excel" to produce the required reports.
