Online quotes using iextrading

Sat Jun 08, 2019 3:23 am
I am running Windows 10 and have been unable to find a source for online quotes that will work. I have tried everything that is included in 4.8.3 and various modifications that have been suggested but nothing has worked. However, I recently ran across these settings that will work, but they only work for EFTs, not five letter mutual funds-

URL: https://api.iextrading.com/1.0/stock/%1/quote
Identify by: Symbol
Price: "latestPrice":(\d+\.\d+),
Date: "latestUpdate":(\d+)\d{3},
Date Format: %s
Skip HTML stripping: checked

At least I got something to partially work. Had anyone tried this to get it to work with mutual funds? Does anyone have any other sources that will work?

This works for me on 4.8.3 and 5.0.4

URL: https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v7/fin ... e&symbols=%1
Symbol: %1
Price: "regularMarketPrice":((\d+|\d{1,3}(?:[,]\d{3})).\d+)
Date: "regularMarketTime":([\d]+)
Check "Skip HTML Stripping"

Thanks, sandyvee, for your reply. I put in the settings as you listed, and it gives an error message that it fails to receive a quote. Have you tried these settings recently?

What did you put in for the date format? I tried it both blank, and with: %y-%m-%d , but both give the same error message.

Thanks for your help.

https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v7/finance/quote?fields=regularMarketPrice&symbols=%1

Date Format is blank

Yes, it works for me still:

Fetching URL https ://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v7/finance/quote?fields=regularMarketPrice&symbols=BA...
Price found: '368.56' (368.56)
Price for BA updated (id E000045)

Thanks, sandyvee. I finally got it to work using your settings- not sure what I was doing wrong before.

Using Linux Mint 8.3 and KMyMoney 4.8. Have my online quotes setting for yahoo as described many times including sandyvee in this discussion.

I am not able to get quotes. For example if I ask for a quote for MMM I get the following

Executing /usr/share/kde4/apps/kmymoney/misc/financequote.pl yahoo MMM...
Unable to update price for MMM (no price or no date)

This happens for any stock or mutual fund I choose.

What's wrong?

This happens because the 3rdparty application financequote.pl has outdated quote sources. This issue should be reported at https://github.com/finance-quote/finance-quote/issue
