Hello all and thank you for reading my post. Looking for a Quicken Alternative, specifically something free or that I could pay 1x and not have to pay yearly or monthly for. The key feature for me is the forecasting option. Only seen it on Kmoney or Moneyspire. But if anyone has any other suggestions please send me a private message.
First time set up and use but looking for some additional help for some items. I think I saw the answer in another topic, to see reconciled transactions you use the report. Question, what if you want to edit the transaction after reconciliation? Does not seem possible to me? Or I do not know how to do so? Downloaded all 2020 transaction from my bank and the reconciliation is off. I think its related to transfers from checking to savings but not sure. Is there a guide on how to create a transaction between accounts where they are both in Kmoney? Thanks in advance. |

Simply edit it as you do with non-reconciled transactions. You will be warned about the fact that the transaction is already reconciled, but you can still edit it. There was a discussion lately that there should be another state (e.g. frozen) which will prevent further editing, but that is not yet implemented.
Did you have a look into the manual? It is available in a few languages, though the translations may not be up-to-date. You can find sections on reconciliation. To answer your question: enter the other account as category in the transaction form.

Thanks for the reply.
My first issue was that the reconciled transaction where not showing on the ledger. Based on another post, I just thought that is how the software operated. However reviewing the settings this morning I found that you can toggle that to show in the ledger. That solved my editing reconciled transactions question. I was able to resolve the reconciliation issue as well. The transfers had been created 2x and I did not notice that. Had to delete the transactions from both accounts and then created them in one and they appeared in the other like I am used to. That solved the issue. One other question - it seems I only get the reconciliation option on my checking account. Marking items cleared in savings never did enable the reconciliation option. I was able to select all and mark them reconciled but that is not the same thing. Learning, ,but I think this is going to work as a nice Quicken replacement. |

The result is the same (except that you don't have the checks that are performed during the reconciliation process). I just tried it here and don't find it limited to the checkings account type. Works for savings and general asset accounts just alike. Which version (on which OS) are you using? See Help/About KMyMoney for that piece of information.
