I started out with 5.0.6-8.1 and found out quickly online quote update with Yahoo doesn't work. After upgraded to stable 5.1-744 for Windows10 64bit, everything seems to working fine. Today I upgraded to 5.1-757 and found out there is problem with split transaction entries. Everything entered will show up as positive amount even they are expanse items. Furthermore, all amounts are shown as "unassigned"! There is no way to correct it by editing the splits.
Can anyone take a look into this issue? I am downgrading back to 5.1-744 now. Thanks, hhc |

Can you explain where in the application you find this problem? KMyMoney has gained some size and so many views and dialogs which makes it hard to select the location that you are talking about. Thanks in advance.

From any ledgers under stable 5.1-757, you can create entry with split transactions. The problem will manifest right the way if you split it with both income and expanse. You can even recreate the problem by creating a new scheduled transaction with splits. Sorry I can't do a screen capture for you since I am back on stable 5.1-744 already. It is lucky that I always kept a copy of the known working (for me) download.

Windows sucks. Seems that this is specific to a locale also. Try to fix it. Not easy, if you don't have a real dev environment.

Appreciate the help and I share your sentiment about Windows. Is it possible you can let me know when it is fixed and the release I should install?
Cheers, hhc |

Fixed it with this change but forgot to report back here. So updating should solve it for you.

Thank you very much. However, I have problem figuring out which stable version I should upgrade. This is the place I download KMymoney https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/KMyM ... ase_win64/ and I saw a lot failed builds. If you don't mind, please point me to the right place to get the update. Appreciate the help in advance.

Windows builds on KDE's binary factory currently fail due to the build failure of some libraries/frameworks KMyMoney depends on. Not a KMyMoney but an upstream problem. One of the developers maintains a set of cross-compiled snapshots. I don't know at which rate they are updated (as it looks not daily) so your mileage may vary. The filename of those download should contain a reference to the git commit they were created with.

I felt so inadequate at this moment, but I downloaded the 64 bit stable setup installer under the "Product: KMyMoney 5.1 (stable) (Aqbanking6, Qt5.9, KF5.47)" section. Hope this is the one.
I also downloaded 5.1-763 from the place I used to get KMyMoney. I will try both and report back. Thanks again. |

Unfortunately, the cross-complied snapshot I downloaded is a "rpm" file. I have no idea how to use it in Windows 10.
The split transaction problem exists in the most recent downloadable 5.1-763. I guess I will have to stay with 5.1-744 or migrate to Linux???? |

That's true, but RPM is simply a container for the exe file here. I used the KDE ark utility and that showed it. For windows I found a link to Easy 7-Zip. Hope that helps.

Ah, learnt something today. I didn't know rpm file is just another form of archive.
By the way, I am actually exploring KDE Neon now and noticed the KMyMoney there is version 5.1. so I am going to stay with 5.1-744 in Windows. One last question, when do you think the fix will get into the stable release thread? |

hhc$, I'm having the same issue as you. The last working build I have is 716. I've searched for 744 but cannot find it. Any chance you could PM me with a copy of the file? Regards Robert |

rblackwell,
I don't know how to do what you asked. In the Windows world, I seldom go to forums. This is the first forum I joined. KMymoney is one that could replace Quicken (fed up with their force subcription tactic), but trying to find the right package is very frustrating. I went to the KMyMoney web site, followed the links and found you can't find any older release at all! I started to follow ipwizard's post and found other places, like the "cloud server" but found nothing there. Maybe ipwizard can help us out here to get the latest 5.x release? I am willing to try. |

Just want to let you all know that I just tried stable version 5.1-830 and split transactions worked as expected. Stock quote download from Yahoo US also has no problem.
Thank you. |
