I am using KMyMoney Portable 5.1.0-4763930b6 in Windows 10.
I am migrating from Quicken to KMyMoney. As a test, I exported a small amount of data from Quicken and imported it into KMyMoney (QIF format). It went well, so I then transferred several years of data. The import seems to have worked, but there were MANY popup windows with the message "Please select a default category for the payee", and buttons for "Save Category", "No Category" or '"Abort". I presume a new Payee is being added, and the program is asking for a default Category for the Payee. First, this is not mentioned anywhere in the documentation, so was an unpleasant surprise. Second, it was tedious to have to deal with all those popup windows. I have another batch of data to import (into a different KMyMoney file). Is there any way to avoid those annoying popup windows? Do I need to create all the Payees by hand first (which will also be tedious)? |

Never mind.
I found there is an option to turn off the popup message asking for payee default category: Settings -> Ledger -> Import -> Ask for a new payee's default category It would be nice to mention this in the Import section of the User Manual. |
