I am finding it a bit strange to work with categories.

I have expenses in EUR and USD, all belonging to the same conceptual category.

KMM insists that when a transaction is classified and assigned a category, it must have an exchange rate if it's in a currency different from the category's.

What I do not understand is what's the point of assigning a default currency to a category? Why can't the category be currency-less?
