Hi, I've only been using KMyMoney (v5.08) on Ubuntu 20.04 (previously from 16.04) for a short while. This is the version available in the repository.
I've setup some funds with price precision of 4 and have tried to start using KM to track my 401k. I'm Entering transactions manually. However, my 401k funds have SHARE values with 4 decimal places and prices with 2 decimal places. I have a particular purchase of 48.3984 shares at $18.02 for a total of 872.14 in my 401 account. When I try to enter it in KM it rounds the shares to 48.4 and gives me a total of 872.17. I've searched the forum for similar questions, but have not found this specific issue except that apparently there is a calculation issue fixed in 5.10 (but I couldn't find any details - that I could understand). Is there a place (I've looked but can't find) to alter the share precision? Or is this problem possibly solved by upgrading to 5.10? Or do I just fidget with the price decimal places to make the total come out right? Thanks. |

Open your list of Investments in the View Selector area. There you can set the properties of the asset by modifying the Investment options. You can set the granularity/fractions of the counting and the price accuracy.
I am using 1/100000 for all my securities and 5 digits for the price. Rolf |
