Hello,

I have my current account in euros (my base currency) but also older accounts that pre-date the euro and are therefore in French francs. Although there is a conversion rate on the date of the change of currency, this is not the case for the years before. So, when I run any report, all old transactions are not converted into my base currency.
The automatic update (online) does not work as the default source (KMyMoney currency) does not seem to have the Francs any longer (even for old dates).
Any suggestion would be most welcome.

Wow, I remember the times of FF, DM, ÖS and all the others very well even though we left that era almost 20 years ago, but I never had the desire to keep track of currency exchange rates before that date. One possibility you have is to get the exchange rates from a source that provides them and process them with KMyMoney's CSV importer.

Thank you very much for this reply. I have tried it and the currency exchange rate has been correctly updated in "Tools -> Prices "
However, because I ran this import after having entered the deposits and withdrawals in the Francs account, the exchange rate for those existing operations is 1 to 1 (and not updated by the rates defined in the file I imported). Is there any way to force this to be updated for all operations in one account ?

Also, something I was unsure about in the import interface. If I enter my file (the two columns of the csv) as : 01/01/1998 0.15245
where 1 FRF = 0.15245 €
I need to choose, during the import: "From currency: Euro" and "To currency: French franc" to have it imported the right way round. Is the labeling misleading or am I missing something ?

The price import as well as the manual price entry does not have an influence on already entered transactions. That would be a disaster. There is also no way to modify the transactions in bulk.

Regarding the question about the price import: I don't know. I have never used that part of the application. Maybe, someone else can provide more information.

I have a spreadsheet with French Franc to USD and Euro to USD for every day between 01/01/1982 and 31/12/2001. I am quite sure I got it from Oanda.com. Interested?
