CSV Importing with no Category

Sun Aug 01, 2021 5:12 pm
When importing credit card data in CSV format, some transactions require a split. To identify these transactions, I leave the category field blank, which highlights the transaction in the register. However, some of the entries in the register have the data from a previous transaction entered. I some cases, the total amount of the transaction is the same as the earlier transaction, in other cases, it is different. Even if the total transaction is the same, the splits are different.

How do I keep the previous data from being entered? In the Ledger configuration, I have No Autofill checked. Am I missing something else?

Thanx.

AFAIR, you can't turn off auto matching when importing transactions. Workaround: define a category named UNUSED or SPLIT and use that in your CSV. Once you have modified the transaction after import, this category does not contain any transactions. Just an idea.
