Hi to all.
I'm using KMyMoney to keep trace of my personal finances since years. Now I'm moving to a different country (with the same currency €) and I would like to be able to create something like a sub booking account in order to be able to understand how the new experience abroad is going (how much I'm gaining and how much I'm spending in that country alone) and at the same time have a look of al the money I have in both countries and the total gains and expenses in both countries. Can I do that? How? |

Create a new country Class. Assign that class to all the new transactions in the new country.
You can then run reports by Class. Unfortunately, I have found some of the Class reports are buggy, so you will have to be careful using them until they are fixed. |

Go to Classes on your menu.
Create a new Class with the name of the country you will live in. When you enter your transactions in the register, you will see a drop down box for Class right under the box for Category. Assign your country Class to the transaction there. In the Reports section, you will see your reporting options. |

I do not have any Classes in my menu! Above I have: File Edit View Institution Account Category Transaction Tools Settings Help and non of this has a Classes inside. Where should it be? |

I think Quicken / MS-Money calls them classes, we call them tags. You should have a tags view.

Yes I have. So I use the tag as a class as explained above. Is it right? |

Yes, but watch out for some known problems as has been mentioned by others in this thread.

Yes, I incorrectly referred to "Tags" as "Classes".
In Quicken, they were called Classes. In KMyMoney they are called Tags. Sorry for the confusion this caused. |
