I'm creating a new security within an investment account.

After I'm done, I save the file, close it, open it, and the security is gone.

I think this is a bug.

Further details:
- Both the security and the account are in EUR.
- The account has an associated brokerage account.
- I'm using KMyMoney, Version 5.1.2-bd835cb.

First, although I don't think it should matter, where did you get that version? Did you compile from git or are you running an AppImage?

Second, if you add some other transaction that does not create a new security, along with the new security transaction, and save the file and restart, is that other transaction saved? If not, then I would ask for more details about how/where you are saving and what file type you are using. Also, what operating system/distribution are you using. I am wondering here if there might be some problem with the new file being saved by KMM not actually being created.

AppImage.

Ubuntu linux 18.04.

The file is created. It's not a problem with the file not being saved. I'm using xml format.

Go to Account > Asset > select an investment account, right click > New investment. Complete wizard (let's call this security B).

The account now shows the new security as a subaccount.

If I go to the account itself, add an order to purchase a different security (let's call it A), save the file, close KMM, re-open KMM, re-open the file, open the investment account ledger, the order to purchase A is there, but security B does not show up as a subaccount of the investment account under Account > Asset.

Is the general filter option called Show equity accounts active/marked? If not, mark it to turn it on.

Since I worked on a related bug today as it seems to me: what is your setting of option Hide zero balance equities? Does it make a difference, when you turn if off and restart the application? Note: Restart is required here (see the bug entry).
