As mentioned here, I hit some missing libraries when installing the latest app image 5.1.40. Same issue with 5.1.41.
How can I get these shared libraries? |

libgwengui-cpp.so.79 is contained in the appimage file but it is not found by the plugin code. I am currently investigating this issue. If the libraries are installed on the host system they are picked up and the error message does not get shown. Since that is the case on my system, I did not notice the problem in the first place.
libpython3.6m.so.1.0 is not contained in the appimage file. I don't know anything about that woob plugin so I leave commenting on it to a more knowledgeable person.

I'm seeing similar errors;
OS - Linux Mint Cinnamon 20.2 KMYMoney - Version 5.1.2-657dbcf2f (kmymoney-5.1-43-linux-64-gcc.AppImage)

I just installed the latest AppImage, Version 5.1.80-4e1c3d231
from this URL: https://binary-factory.kde.org/view/App ... _appimage/ And this file: kmymoney-master-38-linux-64-gcc.AppImage 146.45 MB I opened it with AppImageLauncher and chose Integrate and Run. So far, it is a nice upgrade from my previous vers 5.1.2. I do have one problem with Online Stock Quote updates. Here is the error I got: Uncaught Error: (Please report to developers) Security 'E000058' not found. /home/appimage/Craft/BinaryFactory/downloads/git/extragear/kmymoney/kmymoney/mymoney/mymoneyfile.cpp:3044 A |

Back in 2020, when I was still using Mint 19, I temporarily installed KMyMoney version 5.1 using Appimage. Maybe things have changed since 2020, but I did not use AppImageLauncher. At that time I did not know that AppImageLauncher existed. Today, I did take a look at this webpage: AppImageLauncher, integrates AppImages applications to the application launcher.
Anyway, you should be able to launch the current version of the KMyMoney Appimage without using the AppImageLauncher. You can launch the Appimage version of KMyMoney simply by making the file executable. However, there may still be a problem should you attempt to download stock prices. Evidently there was since you wrote: "I do have one problem with Online Stock Quote updates.". Whether your problem with downloading stock prices is the same as the problem I was having back in 2020 is an unknown. You can see my problem in my April 2020 post: Cannot Download Stock Prices with AppImage Version of KMyMoney. This post may also be of interest: Re: 5.0.8 installed via Applimage - Stock Prices Issue. Installing the KIO package through Synaptic Package Manager made it possible to download stock prices.
I'm now using Mint 20.2 and waiting for the release of Mint 20.3. I don't anticipate experimenting with the Appimage of KMyMoney in the very near future. I may eventually take a look at the Appimage version of KMyMoney. |

Despite the problems we see with the current AppImage (it does not search dynamic libs inside the AppImage correctly) the above problem is related to your data file content. There is a price entry (for whatever reason) for an unknown security with the (internal to KMyMoney) id E000058. Maybe it existed before and you deleted it and the price entry was not removed correctly. This can be fixed, but as I said it is unrelated to the AppImage library search problem.

I am glad to see that the appimage is back.
I downloaded kmymoney-5.1-44-linux-64-gcc.AppImage and found formatting issues with it. 1) It ignores the fonts I have specified. 2) It seems to ignore the styles for the home tab and all reports. Besides wrong fonts, all the color bars highlighting data and columns are missing. I also noticed the About dialog shows the wrong version. I didn't go any further into trying it out. |

I suppose it's kmymoney-master-38-linux-64-gcc.AppImage, but that does not build correctly for me. Same problems with shared library plugins. It does start up, but, as markhm reports, with incorrect fonts (in the reports for me). |

About the version number in the About dialog: it is correct. It shows the current version (5.1.2) and the git hash of the commit it was build from. The AppImage on the other hand uses only the major and minor version number (5.1) and adds the build number (44 in this case) separated by a dash. The micro version number is not used there. Both numbers are correct, because two AppImage builds may contain the same KMyMoney version but different library versions (e.g. OFX, Qt, KDE, ...) or even different build options.

Thanks for the feedback, IPWizard. I opened the kmy (as xml) file in a text editor, but the only reference I find to E000058 is: ________________________________ <PRICEPAIR to="USD" from="E000058"> <PRICE date="1995-04-11" price="53/2" source="Prices Importer"/> <PRICE date="1996-01-31" price="97/4" source="Prices Importer"/> <PRICE date="1996-10-21" price="89/4" source="Prices Importer"/> </PRICEPAIR> _________________________________________ You say it can be fixed. Is it hard to explain how I can fix it? (For the record, the file does update quotes when I use the installed repository version of 5.1.2) thanks A P.S. this occurred in the latest appimage, viz, -master-42-linux-64-gcc_d1123a85542e.... |

Update:
I simply removed those offending lines that referred to E000058, and then another for E000120. And then the latest AppImage can open the file. However, it still does not download quotes, even though I have used Synaptic PM to install KIO and a couple of other KIO-related files that looked like they might be germane. A |

Removing the price info is exactly what needed to be done in your case (no other reference other than the price pair). We are working on the appimage issues. Online price update is one of them, but not top of the list. BTW: Stick with the 5.1 branch and don't use master for production (yet). It is not tested well enough atm.

Update: I tried installing 5.1.57 today. The kbanking error no longer appears but there is still an issue with woob.so
