Hello,
Is there a way known how I can initiate a frequent price update for my investments through a cron job?
TIA

mmh, couldn't I separate the module(s) responsible for the price update into its own library/executable and launch that from a cron job.
It wouldn't be the first software I write in my life.

PS. would be a 'nice to have' feature in KMM

KMyMoney data storage is not designed to work with multiple users (tasks) in parallel. It might be an idea to provide a DBUS service within KMyMoney and use that by an external tool to send the data. This way, you could buffer the data when you don't run KMyMoney and insert it once KMyMoney comes up as a bonus. The DBUS interface is already used, so not that much new technology. Also, your tool would be (almost) completely decoupled from the actual application. Just a thought.
