Semi-New user to KMyMoney.
macOS Big Sur KMyMoney 5.1.2.32c7f2a16 I’ve used it before and understand how it works, at least for my novice use case. I am trying to start using it again but am getting stuck somewhere. When I import transactions from my bank, sometimes when they occur on the same day, they do not get imported in the order my bank shows on their end. For example, I have 3 transactions all occurring on 03/03/2021 My bank shows this ATM Withdrawal Grocery Store Car Wash KMyMoney shows this Car Wash Grocery Store ATM Withdrawals I am used to Banktivity for mac where all you need to do is click and drag the transaction where you want it. All within the same day of course. I found a video that show banktivity reordering. https://youtu.be/smng-IKmn6M At 55:55 it shows him reordering transactions that occured on the same day. How can I reorder transactions within KMyMoney? Love the software btw, just got here and tried reading the guide but I don’t think it covers it, or maybe I just find the answer. |

KMM displays transactions in the ledger according to the specified sort order, which is clearly not related to the order in which the bank displays them.. If you right click on a column header in the ledger, it shows the default sort order, and allows you to change it. Try using the entry order, which may or may not do what you want. Also be aware that the order of import is just the order in which the bank exported them, which may or may not be the same order in which it displays them on its web site.

It would of never of occurred to me to click there (doesn’t look like something I could click on). I was looking for sorting options in the toolbar. Also on a macbook I have to simultaneously click both right and left to get it to come up. Simply right clicking doesn’t work nor double clicking. It seems to me that this will do. Still have not figured out how to move individual transactions but I don’t think I will need it if I can get the sorting right. The entry order you suggested did the trick. I’ll continue using this solution and see if any issues come up. Appreciate the quick response! First post asking for help and the KDE forums did not let me down! |

Don't try to move an individual transaction - it just won't work. KMM does not store any position related information. It just uses the specified sort order.
