Hello,
I'm trying to create a report with the following criteria, but wasn't successful yet:
1. A report for a given time period from/to - not limited to 1 year
2. totals of all transaction for each category/sub-category in each time period (per month)
A selection of specific accounts is not necessary.

Has someone already created a report with a lay-out like this?
Should I export all transactions to e.g. mySQL and create my own report (in CrystalReports)?

Any help is much appreciated.
TIA

That sounds much like a report from the Income/Expenses group of KMyMoney reports. Start with e.g. the pre-defined Income and Expenses This Year report and configure it such that the date range matches your expectations. Check the report configuration of Rows/Columns for more options. Or is something missing on this report? If so, what is it?

Bingo!
the "income/expense this year" report is exactly what I was looking for.
I selected (all) expense categories.
The report shows all informationen I needed.
I adjusted the dates according to my needs.
The only thing what puzzled me was the fact that it also listed an income as 1st line in the report even though I did not select any income category. (?)
(I just want to have a expense report.)

What I would suggest for this report however, is to suppress the printed '0.00' amount in cells of the report to make it easier to read.
(Or at lest to have the option in the dialog to suppress the zero amount be printed.)

But overall, this is report I was looking for.

Cheers to the team. -- 3 thumbs up --

PS. the next level of this report would be a percentage breakdown for the categories reported. :-)
