The Linux appimage has been failing to build again for over a month. Last time this happened, it required some additional assistance for the team to get things sorted out.
Is there any estimated date for when the package will be fixed to build successfully again? During the period that there have been no successful builds, there were some interesting enhancements to the program which I am looking forward to using. Has any thought been given to making a flatpak available for KMyMoney? Flatpaks seem to be getting more popular with Linux as they offer a different level of security than appimages and the more flatpaks that you use, the less they often have to download as they can share dependencies. Also, the Linux update tools can automatically update flatpaks, which can be a nice feature. |

it would be nice, for sure.
But all it takes is for someone to do it -- it doesn't need to be someone from the dev team. Setting up and building for multiple packaging systems does make for more work. if they are having issues with appimages, they may also have similar problems with flatpack builds, or simply the volunteer devs just haven't had the free time right now to get to the bottom of things with the appimages.

As far as I know, the appimage issue is not within the KMyMoney build itself, but in the build of an upstream library, and the appropriate team has been notified. Fixing that is not in the hands of the KMyMoney team, so we cannot give any realistic estimate of when it will be fixed. Separately, I believe there is already an open bug or invent issue for creating a flatpack.

The appimage for Linux successfully built last night and is available again, in case any of you were waiting for it.
