Hi
I usually use openSuse, but have just put up ubuntu 8.10 and installed kmymoney via add/remove programs. How can I load a file from a network source? I can do that on suse. Also, kbanking is installed but not ofx. Allan

Check the thread about CVS packages. The stock package provided by the Ubuntu repositories is broken.

Yes, thanks, but still no sign of opening a network file. Allan

That is provided by KDE, and not by KMyMoney.
BTW, what exactly do you mean by network file? A file in an NFS share somewhere?

Hi Shouldn't KDE work the same on both? I have a vague recollection of this problem a while ago on my suse pc and Thomas changed things. Regards Thomas Baumgart " Not quite the same thing, but?.... I have a NAS box (QNap linux) on my network, which I wanted to use as a file server for my two main pcs, to keep them in sync, and/or to save files to for backup. I can do this fine from suse. I've now found I can access the NAS box from Ubuntu by using smb4k, but can't save to it so far because of a permissions issue, but this is really just a workaround. Allan

It seems an issue with Ubuntu, but I am not familiar with NAS boxes enough to tell you how to solve it.
