.
Hi! I defined a loan-type account and it automatically created the monthly payments as schedule, but I have two questions: 1) When I tried an (Income & ) Expense Report (by month) for the whole current fiscal year with the 'Incude scheduled transactions' option enabled, I didn't see the category -which I specified as the corresponding interest/expense place- to be updated through month columns (but the right 'fees' value were shown at the same category field as a month expense!). -Should I declare it as a bug? 2) If I define a loan with a previous year 'initial date', the main loan account does NOT show the remaining balance neither at the main 'Accounts' window, neither at the Reports. Am I missing something here? Thanks. Chris |

I can help with 1) if you explain yourself a little more.
You have a loan, right. And you dont see some transactions in the future, right? Can you tell me in what reports? I need the exact name. Also, which version are you using? Where did you install it from?

Yes, I don't see the interest expenses (but I see fees expenses!) of this loan in the future. And this happens in ALL "Income & Expenses XXX" reports, modified to: "[X] include scheduled transactions" AND "Columns=Monthly" AND "Date:Range=Current Year"
Sorry, you are right. I use the pre-compiled package from Clay Weber repository at Ubuntu 8.10 (with *-kde3 libraries by "http://ppa.launchpad.net/kb9vqf/ubuntu intrepid" repository) As about "2)", maybe I did a mistake: I confused the "opening balance" field which I filled on the (new) loan account wizard (-an obsolete field here, eh?), with the "loan amount" field ... By the way, it's a little 'obscure' the definition of -and the relationship between- the terms "Due date of the first payment to be recorded" (details page), "First payment due on" (schedule page) and "Date of payment" (payout page) in the 'New (loan) account setup' wizard. The online manual is very generic about the loan wizard. It says only:New Account. Continue by answering the questions that the wizard poses to you.> -Is there any reference to the committed discussions that took place upon the development of this wizard, which clarify more the logic behind ?
