I read in some threads (as in 'fiscal year' one) that you have to be in 'expert mode' to create and use Equity accounts.
How do you enter into 'Expert Mode' ?
What type of new abilities -except of using Equities- have you more in KMM2 being in this mode?
I tried to find some more information but I didn't found something.

That's why we call it a hidden feature :) Here's how you can enable it:

  • Quit KMyMoney
  • Open $HOME/.kde/share/config/kmymoney2rc in your favorite editor
  • Search the [General Options] section
  • Add a line containing ExpertMode=true to this section (location does not matter)
  • Save the file
  • Restart KMyMoney

All it will give you at the moment, is the access to the equity accounts. There's no GUI access to this setting. To turn it off, proceed as explained above just by setting ExpertMode to false.
