Hi,
I tried KMM a while ago and it was a bit buggy then. I'd like to try again, but I am reluctant to give up on MS Money just yet. I want to transfer all my historical and current accounts from MS Money -- which now number in hundreds. I can export all accounts in separate QIF files. Is there a way I can import a whole bunch of QIF files into KMM? Ideally, a command line mode would be perfect, so i can use shell script or something similar. Thanks

If you're familiar with some sort of scripting (shell, Perl, ??) you can combine all your QIF files into a single one and then import that into KMyMoney. Check (for example) http://xl2qif.chez-alice.fr/download/QIF99.pdf which contains some information about the record format used. If you need more information, please let us know.

Finally, I got around trying your suggestion, but it didn't work ![]() Over the years I have accumulated a large MS Money file. Luckily, I figured out a semi-automated way to export all my 125 accounts into (either separate or one) QIF files. But getting these loaded into KMM is proving to be a challenge. I tried loading files one at a time, but along the way the data gets corrupted. The corruption could be the way I created QIF files, but it is tedious to try to load back 125 files one at a time to recreate the problem. Please let me know if I can try any other alternatives. Also couple of minor issues, All my imported accounts, including credit cards show up under Assets. Anyway to import them in proper place (liability) in the hierarchy? It would be nice if the import could remember the last location the file was imported from, instead of defaulting to ~/Documents folder each time (this happens in kubuntu). Thanks for your response.

My bad. I guess I didn't understand the document correctly. I now realize that I need an !Account record in addition to the !Type record. I'll try recreating QIF file and hopefully KMM will like it better. Thanks for your help.
