As I continue to try to migrate away from MS Money, I am encountering some problems with importing of investment data. The QIF import of investment account doesn't import any investment transactions, even though the cash account transactions import successfully.
So, to get an idea of how an investment account QIF file should look like, I created a test investment account in KMM with two Buy activities. When I exported data out of this test account, the QIF files for the investment account had just the account header information without any of the investment activities. Again, the cash account exported correctly. Also, I noticed that in the test investment account I created, I had two "Buy" transactions of 25 stocks @ 100$ each and 10 stocks @ 6$ each. The account value is reported as $35, the total number of stocks, instead of $2560, the total value of stocks. Am I missing something, or are these bugs/known limitations? Thanks

Export of investment account is missing.
It should say 'approx 35' (identified by a tilde in front of the total amount as in ~35). That is, because there is no price entry yet in the price history. Set it up and the numbers are correct. Regarding your initial problem, which version of KMyMoney you are using for this?

I am using the latest version from claydoh's PPA. I couldn't find a way to attach a file, so I am just including entire .qif file (not that big ![]() It does say ~35. thanks. However, a suggestion for future enhancement would be, to include purchase price in the price history. It'll provide a better approximation of account value. Other thoughts/suggestions: It appears that investments (stocks/funds etc) are tied to an account, probably it's just my personal preference, but I like investments and portfolios separate. So a stock could be traded from two accounts without having to create it twice. I couldn't figure out a way to change default "Cash" account associated with an investment account. It would be nice to be able to do that. Thanks and keep up the good work.

The stocks are initially tied to an account, but if you go to a second account and try to create a stock with the same symbol as the existing stock, it will ask whether you want to reuse it.
