Hello !
I'm looking for a personal finance manager with a roommate feature. For example, a friend and I share a room and the expenses. I would be able to know how much I owe... Am I clear? I didn't find a similar feature in KMyMoney. Do you know a such software ? Or do you know if a roommate feature is planned for inclusion in KMyMoney ? Regards Romain |

Why don't you give him a "bank account" in KMyMoney?
Murphy's Law is recursive. Washing your car to make it rain doesn't work.

I would also like to see this. A feature where you can add an expense and assign who paid it and who has a share in that expense.
Features that are included in Buxfer for example, but better ![]() |

Can you ellaborate more about this feature? I'm not familiar with it.

These are features that are included in the online money management applications that are popping up everywhere - billq, billmonk, ioweyou, billsarein, billster, buxfer to name some. The idea for these is to form a community of who owes who what. The idea is to be able not only to keep track of your expenses, but also to keep track of shared expenses, in for example a shared house. They are able to interact via each individuals account where all belong to a group. You can track IOU's, shared bills with different ratios or amounts, loans. The more advanced have full reporting and graphical breakdowns, downloads / uploads in QIF or CVS, currency conversion, email reminders, budgeting, tagging, account synchronisation, reminders, automatic tagging (categorising from downloaded or synced info) and the list is growing.
What I would like to see is the simple ability to split a bill between a group easily and intuitively, without the need to create separate accounts for each person and divide up the shares manually. A show of what you owe and what is owed to you and maybe a group feature showing what the group (eg. a shared household) has spent). The other features listed above would be a bonus. You can demo many of the programs to see what they offer. Hope this goes some way to explain it clearer regards, Dan |
