If by update you mean the version 1.0, then it is coming in a few weeks. No fixed deadline yet, but if you are using version 0.9.3 or a CVS version, it is pretty much what you are going to see in version 1.0.

I'm whelmed. I recently installed UBUNTU v9.10 (the Karmic Koala), looking to move my desktop/workstation from Windows 2000. I installed KMyMoney (v1.0.2 ... the one I found when searching the available packages for my UBUNTU). How do I know what version of KDE (I can't even seem to see where I have KDE at all) I have? Can I update the KMyMoney I have to a later version, fix level, something?
Thanks, |

You have that information in the About dialog of KMyMoney. If you look at the CVS packages topic in this very same forum, you have the information to install KMyMoney from a PPA repository. The latest stable version is 1.0.4. The latest beta version is 3.97.2, which is intended for KDE4.

OK. So the Gnome desktop must actually be KDE under the covers somewhere?
I apparently successfully installed KMyMoney 1.0.4. Microsoft Money 2004 has a function/feature called Cash Flow Forecast. It presents http://www.stan-and-jeanne.com/public-picture.php?PICTURE=Money_2004_Cash_Flow_Forecast.jpg (an image cut from Money ... red line = checking account, green line = credit card, orange fill = net of the two) which shows me at a glance if I'm in trouble, based upon the scheduled transactions and the current balances of the selected accounts. KMyMoney gets close. The one thing I need is the ability to edit specific instances of scheduled transactions (to project, for instance, specific amounts to be transferred between checking and VISA). Money places an arbitrary limit on the number of instances ... which would be OK if it allows at least a year's worth. The ability to define a scheduled transaction as "pay off the credit card balance" would be as useful if the balance were calculated for each instance of the scheduled transaction (as it appears it is now). This function/feature is so useful to me that it is the primary reason I am still running Windows 2000. Any chance? Thanks, |

Hi, We're glad that you like using it. I'm not sure what do you mean by 'update' because you didn't specified which version you are currently using. You can check out the KDE4 version release schedule here.

Unfortunately, the deveopers have limited availability at the moment.
It would be as well for you to register a new feature request on bugs.kde.org, to ensure it doesn't disappear. aga
