Hi
I have long been using expenseview.com however I want to take the next step in managing my financial transactions.

I did create an Intituation which represents my bank and that account is a saving account I did start out with a balance of 5000USD and then I did put in the transactions I did that month that left 1100USD.

After that I did create another account of type Cassh
What I normally do is withdraw the 1100 USD and pay in cash "I dont live in a western country and only roughly 15% of shops accept plastic".

So my question is :
- How can I move that 1100 USD to the cash account without filing it in as an expense, since that way it will be counted twice as an expense, once when I move the money to Cash account, and the second time when I spend the money.

Question B.
Expenseview.com allows me to export my expenses in a CSV file, can I import those into KmyMoney, if so where can I define or set what each column in the CSV resembles as a Category in KmyMoney.

Thanks

When you move money from one account to the other, that's a transfer. It only counts as an expense when a expense account is involved in the transaction, which does not seem to be the case here for the first transaction.

I think we all do similarly, transfer from savings or checking to cash, and then charge all the expense transactions, plus maybe a final transaction for all those small expense that you don't single out.

What if I do transfer x USD from my savings account to my bank as a payment for some loan...wouldn't that count as an expense...here there is no expense account involved...right ?

In the case of a loan, only the interests count as expense, the principal of the loan is a liability, which slowly reduces over time.
