How about Korona?

It's listed by wikipedia as a defunct hungarian currency (also as a generic term for currency in Hungarian, though I'm an English-only speaker). It sounds like a whole bunch of different currencies (crowns, koruny, kroner).

Plus, I think it sounds cool, like a corona, the halo around the moon in a solar eclipse. (or a Mexican beer...) :)

Or the name of a version of the not widely known THEOS operating system.
OK, I have to admit that I worked for THEOS many years ago - and I am sure that one source line or the other of this system is still in there today. ;)

I like Korona or Krona, but Krona sounds too much like something to do with cron.

Korona sounds like Plasma's Corona, although "normal" users probably don't know about it.

Most people here need to watch this talk: (just the first minute is enough)

Don't settle for a silly name or you are doomed.

Nice video, Kragil, but it's not a big secret that we should avoid silly names. The question is: what names are silly. Please list them so that we won't pick one of them.

I can't think of any good reason to change (other than to simplify).

I don't think the "K" can be dropped - can it?
If you drop "My" you lose the personal finance aspect to the title.

"KMyMoney" encapsulates just what the app. does. Changing it to some nonsense word will do nothing but harm to a great app IMHO.

I have to compile all the posts and then post the results, so it's easy for everyone to see the options.
My biggest apologies, because I haven't had that much time lately.

Here is the final list of names.
First, the names that are already in use by other applications or companies
Kuicken or Kuiken
Kapital
Kash
MyMoney
Smaug
Karma
Pekunia - from the latin word pecunia (there seem to be a project in playground about this, but seems it's not active, and I don't know the content)
KFinance - The KDE Finance group, which KMyMoney is a member of

Then, the names that are very similar to the current one, and thus do not justify a change
KMoney
KMoneyManager
MyMoney

Then, the list of names we could choose from:
Akkount
KashFlow
(KDE) Banker
Kitty - an informal English word meaning a small sum of money, collected from all the people in a group and used to buy their food, drinks or pay (mutual) bills
Inkaso - indonesian for payment or collection
Kopilka - Russian for "Piggy Bank."
Kullin (Mapuchean for trade)
Coin or Koin
Kashbook or CashbooK
BanKo
RecKoner
DariK - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persian_daric
Hawala - as one of the first financial systems.
Macella or Macellum (origin of today's word "Bank")
Trapezus (place of first money-changing activity, today's name Trabzon)
Dalton (referencing the famous bank robber gang)
Kashier
Akountant
Aksumite
Shekel - one of the first money in the world
Midas - a famous greek mythology character who was said to turn everything he touched to gold.
Paktole - also linked to the King Midas myth. In french, pactole conveys the meaning of "endless wealth", though I'm not sure it applies to other cultures
Bucks
Treasure
TreasureTrove
Hoarder
PocketMoney
Balance
DoubleEntry (although sounds a bit pornographic..)
BottomLine
KillMotor - http://coa.inducks.org/story.php/0/W+WDC+135-02//_ (a reference to donald duck and then to Scrooge)
Ekonomy

There are about 50 names we can choose from. Still, it's up to the development team whether we change or not.

Whatever the results, the community response was overwhelming, and I want to thank everyone for that
