Why can't I enter transactions for dates before today

I'm trying out KMyMoney 3.95 from SVN.

Whenever I create or edit a transaction (in 'Ledgers' wiew), the 'Date' field only lets me enter today's date or dates in the future, but not in the past.
If the date is in the past, the font color in the 'Date' input field turns red and the 'Enter' button becomes inactive, preventing me from saving the transaction.

Is this a bug or is there some reasoning behind this?

I won't have time to enter every single transaction I'll ever make into KMyMoney right on the day it occurs, so unless I'm missing something here, this program won't be very useful to me in this form...

Thanks for your help!

If you hover over the date, or over the enter, you'll see that you can't enter transactions when the date is before the opening date of your account.
Go to edit your account and set the proper opening date, and you'll be good to go.

Oh, I see... Stupid me...

Btw: by "hover over the date, or over the enter, you'll see that [...]" did you mean there's supposed to be a tooltip explaining this?
I see no such thing... (Well, the Enter button does have a tooltip, but it merely contains the word "Enter"...)

In any case: thanks for the help, I changed the account date and it works perfectly!

Oops, I didn't see you were using 3.95. You are right there is no tooltip in that version.
