What is this KMyMoney2 version some people refer to? I do not see it anywhere. The latest version I can find is 1.0.2

12. Speaking of names: where did the "2" come from? Is it KMyMoney or KMyMoney2?

The name of the app is KMyMoney. The "2" is historical legacy from when the project went from KDE 1 to KDE 2. You can search the mailing list archive for more details.

No prob. FYI, it seems that they are re-using that convention again with the move to KDE4. KMyMoney4 is a beta version targeting the KDE4 desktop. That is actually what I am currently using (with no issues thus far).

No, we (the developers) don't. Maybe some of the users do.

The project's name is KMyMoney. We just removed all the '2's from the code so we won't add a '4' now that we got rid of the trailing digit.

KMyMoney will eventually have a version 4.x which is for the KDE4 version. The 1.0 release is for the KDE3 environment.

Is there a 'target date' when the 4.x version will be available?

We have released a beta version last December, and beta 2 is coming out in 2 weeks.
We expect to release a stable together with KDE SC 4.5 in August, but that might change.
