Two Questions...
1: Is there a "fast" way to change one particular item in a split transation across multiple entries.? e.g. Paycheck has deductions for retirement. The original account I programmed to receive these deductions was set up as an Investment account instead of as an Asset account. (Somehow in the upgrade from .9 to 1. a number of my paycheck entries got converted to retirement deposits. In the retirement investment account there are two splits recorded. One for the earnings, and one for the taxes and withdrawls.) I created a new "retirement" asset account and I'm going through all the paycheck splits and changing the retirement deduction from the original "investment" to the new "asset". I'm also reentering all the paycheck deposits. (26/year*multiple years. I'm not a happy camper;>) It would be nice if there was a way to change an entry X to Y with one operation. 2: Is it possible on an import to just capture the pay deposits and splits instead of the entire dump which includes all the checks and other activities? (I know I can modify the import file to just contain the pay deposits, but that takes almost as much time as manually reentering the data.) Thanks |
