Of the two, I prefer the first - the lettering is just that little clearer. On the lettering though, if we're still with the 'coin' motif, should not it - the lettering - be the same gold colour as the circumference? Finally, might the existing lettering, at the top, be better balanced by, at the bottom - KMyMoney? aga |

Option 7, a little more legible.

Still no raised letters except the K in the middle?
That would make it look more like a real coin I think, see e.g. Euro or coins from my country. Keep up the great work!

Hey, as a graphics designer, I'm just a lousy C++ developer.
I wouldn't know where to start to raise the letters. At least, I couldn't find it when I right-click

Would you mind sharing the source? I'm not really a designer either (although I've been listed as one once. oO), but I could try to do something. Also, I'm sure there are better artists around.

Sure, here it is: http://soliverez.com.ar/drupal/sites/de ... oney5.svgz
Oh, as a condition, any help has to come with the source. I don't want to be in the situation where we are left without the original images and we have to make something up to display a newer version number.

Again talking about a subject about which I know zilch, isn't it just the appearance of a shadow that gives the illusion of height (or depth)? And finally, and I wasn't going to say anything in case of 'nit-picking', but could KMyMoney go a teensy bit to the left? Or perhaps it's my eye-sight playing tricks? Anyway, I'd be proud to have produced it. aga

Moved a little to the left.
And if someone can help with the shadows, it would be great.

Work in progress (before I go to sleep):
(new icon to the right) I'm not happy with the text yet, will play around some more tomorrow. Also, the K shadow is done in a rather ugly way which I have to fix (not very used to vector graphics). Don't worry, I'll share the svgz file after some more work if you like it. EDIT: Actually, if you want to play with it: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1218437/kmymoney_h.svgz Release often, release early right? EDIT2: Bah, why doesn't it work. Changed URL.

I like it. We can ask the Oxygen team to work it from here and make it look like a proper Oxygen icon. But I think it's a great starting point.
The text will not show up on the buttons or anything. It's only for those places where we need a big icon. For small icons, the text has to be taken off before exporting the png file.

I actually think it would be easier for the artists to create it from scratch . But the icon could be used to give them the general idea, and it shows that we've put some effort in it before asking.
... Can someone remind me why I've made an icon for an application I don't use again?
