Transaction screeen when I go to edit the record and I click into an "Unassigned" category and select the category I want to assign, normally, I will have an enter selection button next to the cancel icon; however, I don't have any choice but to cancel the transaction. That is all I have available, so when I go to reconcile the record it will not reconcile or assign it to a catergory. I have quite a number like this and I just can't quite grasp why this is happening. I have the KDE 4.3 version of 3.97 KmyMoney. Any help would surely be appreciated.

First, make sure you have version 3.97.2, and not 3.97.0 or 3.97.1.
Second, check the opening date of the date and verify that it is prior to the transaction you are trying to enter.

Opening date of database is set for 01/01/2008. The transactions start in 08/31/2008. Tried setting to Clear status from Reconciled, but still the enter selector is not highlighted. I am running version 3.97.2 The database was reconciled through 12/31/2008 |

Make sure the account's opening date is prior to the posting date. The database opening date - what is that btw? - does not have anything to do with it.

BTW, I did not understand that each individual account had a start date, I thought the date set in the setup options page, set it for the entire database. I think I just learned a very important lesson in KmyMoney. It is working now and I thank you for your input and assistance. |

Think of it like a statement from your bank. Every individual account has its own starting date.
