I've been working with version 3.96 and 3.97 without any problems, but all of a sudden the program crashed on startup. I reinstalled my system, and the program starts up fine, but when I want to open my file, it still crashes and it complains about an unknown account id. Any idea what I could do ?

First step: make a backup copy of your KMyMoney data file.
Start KMyMoney with the -n option from the command line. Then goto the settings dialog, select the Home page and deselect all options in the list. Press OK and open your file (File/Open recent). Next run Tools/Consistency check which should correct the problem (and report it in a dialog). Save the data as usual. Go back to the settings dialog and turn back on the options you want for the Home page. Then select the home page. You should not experience the crash anymore. Hope I got everything right. In case you still experience problems, please get back here.

Following this procedure and removing the faulty scheduled transaction did the trick.
Thanks a million ! |

I'm having a similar problem.......I think.
Since I'd downgraded to the original (can't remember which version it is) from 11.10, when I opened the program and tried to open my old file (which is on on-line storage), it would pop up a "select currency" screen and when I'd select my currency, it wouldn't open my file. When I tried to switch to another file, it would ask me if I wanted to save the changes. My file seems to either be lost or replaced with an empty database. |
