Hi
I try to export data from KMyMoney2 and import them in another KMyMoney2 installation. The exported Record from KMyMoney looks this way ^ D03.01.2009 T-150.00 LLebensunterhalt:Kleider, Schuhe ^ On the import side I use date format %d %m %y, but during the import there is an error saying the date format isn't identified. The Version I use is 1.0.4 (Kubuntu 10.04). Does anybody has an idea? Thanks Dani |

KMyMoney tries to detect the date format used in the file by reading all available date entries. If it cannot detect the format unambiguously, it will ask the user to make a decision.
In your case, 03.01. is valid for both the 3rd of January and the 1st of March. The setting in the QIF profile is only used for exports.

Thanks for answer. Now I went forward with import and the dates were correct. But now I have another problem with the amount. Both values T-21,30 T-21.30 are imported as 2130.00 instead of 21.30. How can I change this? Thanks Dani |

This heavily depends on the version of KMyMoney you are using. Can you provide some information? Just one thing that came up lately: Make sure to have no invalid numeric characters in a numeric fields. That would be a cause for this behavior.

I use the version 1.0.4 (Using KDE 3.5.10) which is included in Kubuntu 10.04 This is the whole test-file I used ^ D03.01.2009 T-150.00 LLebensunterhalt:Kleider, Schuhe ^ D03.01.2009 T-21.30 LPersoenliche Ausgaben:Ausgang ^ D05.01.2009 MBob Kinder T-65.00 LPersoenliche Ausgaben:Spielsachen ^ I tried both way, with comma and with point. I got the same result (amount is 100 to high) |

This file is missing a type information. The problem: the T-record has a different meaning for checking/cash and for investment accounts. Don't blame it on us: it's a QIF problem.
Add
as the first line and remove the first line containing the caret (^). A line with only a caret identifies the end of a transaction. So your file would look like this:
That should do then.
