When I register a transaction between two banks I need a way to input another date: the value date.
If I transfer some money from the bank A to the bank B, the money disappear from the bank A, and they appear in the bank B only after some days. The "transfer" procedure has only one date.
There is a way to manage these dates? Is it a new feature to implement in the future?

I remember a discussion on this forum a while ago. It is currently impossible to do what you ask. You can "emulate" this behavior with 2 transactions instead of one transfer but it's not very convenient.

I think that this is a "missing ring", because it's an universal behaviour of every transaction between banks.

There was a patch some time ago to add that, but it was never added into SVN.

Personally, I find it complicates transaction input, with little gain. I think this patch added a "bank date"

I simply have an account for money in transit.

Transfer funds in to this account when paid out of bank1 and transfer out to bank 2 when received.

That keeps everything with correct date and no funds unaccounted for.

In the UK most bank transfers take place almost instantly now but there are still some institutions that take a few days - and then there's FX transfers...
