Hi,
Just installed KMyMoney, very impressed but I have a problem. I set an opening balance, entered a load of transactions and it all looked good, but when I try to reconcile it doesn't balance and it is because the opening balance line shows Deposit 4119.64 Balance 4633.12, which is why my reconciliation shows a difference of 513.48.
I played around with the start point a bit when setting it up, and I think I did have an opening balance of 513.48 at one point, but I thought I had deleted that.
How can I get rid of this extra 513.48?

I am on KMyMoney 1.0.4 KDE 3.5.10 and Ubuntu 10.04

This is something that is being/has been fixed in 4.5; I think the answer is to adjust the value of the first permitted transaction date but I cannot remember. If you cannot get it to work, I will look up the old bugzilla discussion.

Update to 1.0.5 or 4.5.1 version. That has been resolved already.

I am not sure if this is relevant, but do you by any chance have "Don't show reconciled transactions" activated in the General KMM setting ("Filter" tab)?

Well! when I found the problem I tried logging out and back in again, I'm sure I did!

Just gone into it now to try out some of your suggestions and it is fine! The additional 513.48 has gone, it balances, so it as all OK now.

Great suggestion to log out (close the app) and then log in again (reopen the file), This took care of the problem of suddenly changing opening balances. Thanks for the suggestion. I am still using KmyMoney 2.0. I would appreciate some help in changing to the latest version. Thanks

Does your distro provide an updated version?
