I have read here http://dot.kde.org/2010/08/16/kmymoney-team-announces-first-platform-4-release that it is possible now to store the online banking passwords in kwallet.

But kMyMoney don't give me the possibility to store the passwords from online banking (KBanking plugin: aqhbci) in Kwallet if I update an account. Every time I push Account->Update account, kMyMoney ask for the password again.

I use the version 4.5.0 in Kubuntu 10.10.

This feature is (and probably will be) only available for OFX. Reason: most if not all contracts with banks in Germany do not allow you to store your password/PIN on a computer (disk), so KMyMoney does not offer it.

Please be aware, that KMyMoney stores the PIN in RAM for a certain amount of time (I think it's 10 minutes). If there is no activity between KMyMoney and the AqBanking subsystem it will be removed from RAM all together and you have to re-enter it. The same applies if you quit KMyMoney.

Ok, I accept this.

But I think for experts this feature could be interesting.

You know, it is sometimes possible to force the password saving in the web-browser with bookmarklets.

I don't think that with hbci it is not permitted to save the pin on disk, as f.e. StarMoney or Quicken does, or others...

In the Implementation, there are no contracts *whichsoever*, which do not allow to save the pin on "disk".

In Germany, it's not problematic, Should damage occure, you then have to explain your bank/assurance, that your action, which caused a damage, wasn't negligent, as elsewhere else.

It's the same as with the ofx, so, there shouldn`t be any problems with the saving of the pin.

It really sucks, if you have to enter everytime you do something, your pin, which is, from bank to bank, easy or hard and long, and you have to write it somewhere on the desk. Not very secure!!!!

B.T.W. although they say, you are not allowed to save it electronically, they also say, when you are legally liable, when something happens... so let decide the user, whether to risk and save the pin or not....

So, please, add the pin saving of HBCI-PIN also to the kwallet service!

I just started using KMyMoney (and Plasma 5 for that matter) and found it a bit of a hassle to manualy type in my <50 character banking password on a daily basis.
Is this feature allready implementent and I just can't find it or was it lost on some old wishlist?
If so, could it please be added to the current one?

Oh and sorry for the necrobump, didn't know if I should open a new thread for this.

This is integrated in the latest version, IIRC

Thanks for the update!

I just tried it in 4.7.1 and there doesn't seem to be an option for it. Do you mean the latest dev-version?

It's there in 4.7. For existing connections, you have to relink the account, I think.

I don't use myself, so someone else with practical experience on it can tell you more details.

Readding the account sadly didn't work.

Are you sure it's implemented? I couldn't find anything about this in the changelogs.
Otherwise, could this be a Plasma 5 problem? KMyMoney isn't even showing up in KWalletManager

If anything, it will use KWallet of KDE SC4, not the KF5 one. KMyMoney's version for KDE Frameworks is in the works but nowhere near ready yet.

Ah, so it still only works for OFX, that solves it. :)
I'm using aqhbci like the OP.

That is handled in Aqbanking. You probably should request that in the Aqbanking forum or mailing list
