Updated OS and Money file missing

Fri Dec 03, 2010 8:34 pm
Have just upgraded from Ubuntu 10.04 to 10:10. Had been using Kmymoney for several months but when I come to continue whilst the program opens it's asking for new details etc. The version is 4.5.0
Where can I find my old file?

Thank you.

I guess that the upgrade messed up your configuration that's why KMyMoney can't open your last file. If you don't know where have you saved it try running this command to search for it in your home directory.
Code: Select all
find $HOME -name '*.kmy'

If the search returns a result just open the file from that location using 'File->Open'.

Cristian, thank you so much, that did the trick. I had no idea what the file was called so had tried looking for "money" etc with no luck. I also found that I was backing up to my Dropbox account as well.
Thanks for taking the trouble to reply, I'm very grateful.
