Is there a way to make the welcome page the first page that comes up when KMM is first opened? "Start with last selected view" does not work.

You can start KMyMoney with the open '-n'. That will show you the welcome page but has the disadvantage that no file will be loaded.

I'd prefer to have my file load and the welcome screen come up. This way, prying eyes won't see my financial picture should they walk into the room. Is there a way to turn off financial data on some of the screens? |

Hmm, that somehow defeats the purpose of the application.
For KDE I suggest to use Ctrl+Alt+L to simply lock the screen.

Not really. for instance, in MSMoney 2004, (Which I'm finally dumping,) I have a start screen that just shows me links to accounts, etc. No financial data. |

Settings>General>Start with Homepage
Settings>Home uncheck all entries will prevent prying eyes from seeing anything but it won't show the Welcome page automatically.
