Is there an easy way to configure the format on the check print so it will align with my pre printed check stock I have?

Nevermind...I just read a recent post that explained the only way to change the format is by rewriting the HTML. Unfortunately I know NOTHING about HTML. So my next question would be is there other plugins that I can insert into my kmymoney that have different formats to choose from? When I go to settings-configure kmymoney-pugins there is only one option for check template file. I am hoping there is a site that has a list of format options in plugin versions for those of us that can not write html.

No there is not. To have a list a check templates from which you can choose makes it necessary for someone to create all those templates - so far we have one from rdonnelly (I'm sure you read about it in the other thread).

Go the the Repos and get Gwrite, it is very simple, too simple, I wish it had a ruler, but I wrote my template by looking at Cristian's template and reentering the parts I want on my new template. Then I did some trial and error check printouts on copies of my check stock.

You will have to excuse me but this will show how little I know about HTML. I opened up gwrite but now what? Do I just copy what is on the template in the plugin and make some changes? and after I get this formatted the way I want it, how do I get it to work with kmymoney? Thanks in advance for your help |

I did open the template in gwrite and can seem to change fonts, alignments and so on, but when I try to save it, it says it is unable to write to file.

Great new is I figured it out. Got everything lined up nice with my check. The only thing is I have two minor issues.
1. I dont like date format. How can I change that 2. The city state and zip for the payee does not print. |

Nice.
The format of the date depends on your KDE locale settings. You can change that from 'System settings -> Locale'.
Did you fill in that data for the payee you are referring to?

Yes I have everything filled in. In fact, when I put the complete address in the address box for the payee, the street, city and zip all print on one line. So I tried only putting the street in the address box and then the city and zip in the postal code. Then I changed a command to $PAYEE_POSTAL CODE but that didnt work.

Thanks Cristian, I got the date fixed. Now I just need to get the address thing all taken care of.

Did you recompile the plugin? It will only work with the changes I have added yesterday and the placeholder $PAYEE_POSTCODE. If you don't use the SVN version please wait for the next release or try to obtain packages from the SVN version for your distribution.

This is probably a trivial remark, but you can always visualize an html file with your browser of course (file:open).
