I am new to linux, ubuntu, and kmymoney. So if you could answer as if you are explaining to the most computer-illiterate person in the world, that would be great!
I have downloaded .ofx , .qbo , and .qfx versions of my checking account history. I would like to import one of them into kmymoney so I can start working. My financial institution does not offer a .qif download option, which is what kmymoney prefers. Is there any way I can convert any one of my files to a .qif? Thanks in advance, Stevenie |

OFX is better than QIF for importing account data because there are more checks and it is smarter. Click on the "File" button in the tool bar, then "Import", then "OFX...". Select your file, click OK. If you have created your accounts properly, it will recognize the right account and prompt you for confirmation. If not, you have the occasion to create the account now.
I do not know of any standard tools to convert from OFX to QIF, but you really do not need it for KMyMoney. |
